MAFS groom called out for bizarre walk off hours after wedding: 'Relax'
Just hours after becoming the last couple to enter this year’s Married At First Sight experiment by saying ‘I do’ at the altar, things turned sour for intruders Jessica Seracino and Daniel Holmes.
The newlyweds appeared to get along very well when they first met, with the 27-year-old bride admitting she was feeling “hopeful”, yet they hit a rough patch at their reception when Daniel stormed off to rant to producers.
The 30-year-old groom was clearly upset when his ‘wife’ made a comment about their wedding ceremony not being “real-life”.
“I swear when I have my real-life wedding it's going to be so much more practical,” she laughed. “Trackies.”
Daniel quickly walked away from Jessica to ‘go to the toilet’, telling producers: “She just said when she has her real wedding she’ll wear blah blah blah. I’m not trying to overthink it, but this is very, very real to me.
“Oh my f**king god… Why would she say that? What is this then? Is it fake? I’m not going to pretend with her if I know that she doesn’t think it’s serious.”

Daniel ended up confronting Jessica about the comment, leaving her to explain that she would want an “actual wedding” with her family and friends in the future if they worked out.
“It just threw me off a bit,” he admitted, to which she replied, “I think you should ask me first then.
“Like, calm down, why freak out and leave and not speak to me and ask me what I meant? I think you should definitely try because it’s not that easily received when someone is sprinting out of the place and cracking the s**ts and I have no idea why.”
On social media, viewers were quick to slam Daniel for his paranoia and point out that the on-screen weddings are never “real”.
“Yes it’s a fake wedding, Daniel!” one person wrote, while another added, “Did Daniel miss the memo that this is a TV show and they aren't really married?”.
“Daniel you need to relax,” a third said, followed by plenty of others who questioned whether he had even watched the show before.
“Are we going to see Daniel approach the producers for answers every day?” a different user remarked.
“Wait till Anthony tells Daniel that wrestling is also fake,” another joked.
Meanwhile, there were several fans who sided with Daniel’s argument that Jessica should still act like it’s ‘real’.
“Jess does have a point, these are not *real* weddings. But Daniel has every right to be pissed off at that as if the whole day has meant nothing,” one person tweeted.
“I probably would’ve taken Jessica’s comment the exact same as Daniel,” someone else shared.
Married At First Sight airs at 7pm on Sunday and 7:30pm on Monday to Wednesday on Channel Nine and 9Now.
