MAFS' Bryce and Melissa announce TV co-star as twins' godfather: 'Crying'
Three months on from welcoming their twin sons Levi and Tate into the world, Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson have announced that one of their Married At First Sight co-stars will be the boys’ godfather.
It was revealed on Tuesday that the pair had asked Jason Engler to take on the role at Melissa’s birthday celebrations over the weekend, with the 36-year-old sharing his reaction on Instagram.
“Spent the weekend celebrating this stunner’s birthday,” he captioned a gallery of selfies of himself and Melissa.
“I use the term beautiful angel a lot however Liss is actually deserving of that title. One of the most amazing women I have met, there should be a halo hovering over her head. Still not sure where she hides her angel wings but they are there somewhere!
He continued: “Also not long after I was crying in public when Bryce and Liss asked me to be the godfather of the boys and I’m not even ashamed about my public tears.”

A number of Jason’s followers took to the comments to congratulate him on the new gig, including Bryce who left a sweet message.
“The boys will love you as their godfather as much as we do,” he wrote, to which Jason replied, “Don’t make me cry again man!”.
“One of the sweetest things I’ve ever read, thank you for everything,” Melissa added.
“That's awesome news about the godfather, definitely worth the public tears,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who said, “Congrats and all the best. Next line of duty would be best man at the official wedding”.
The trio’s exciting announcement comes shortly after Melissa was showered with love for her 33rd birthday, her first since becoming a mum.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my gorgeous fiancée!” Bryce wrote alongside a photo of himself and Melissa.
“An amazing partner... an amazing mother and my soulmate. Love you more than any words on Instagram can describe.”
After fans expressed confusion as to why fellow MAFS star Belinda Vickers attended the birthday event, which was held at The Deck in Frankston, Bryce revealed that they’ve always been friends.
“Belinda was actually really nice to us and stood up for us when others did what they did, but it was never shown on TV. That’s why we’re still friends to this day,” he replied.
“No one would watch a show where everyone was happy and all got along.”
