MAFS' Brett Helling 'unrecognisable' after major change

He's the moustachioed Married at First Sight star who swept his TV bride, Booka Nile, off her feet at their wedding on Channel Nine's most recent 'social experiment'.

Sadly, Brett Helling and Booka's loved-up honeymoon period was short-lived and the pair parted ways a few weeks after tying the knot.

Brett's new look

Now, with his reality TV days behind him, electrician/psychology student Brett appears to have parted ways with a key part of his on-screen identity: his facial hair.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 31-year-old surprised fans by debuting a freshly-shaved face.

Brett made sure to document his drastic makeover by uploading pics of his progress from full-beard, to handlebar 'stache to clean shave.

"Swipe for spiritual journey #wanderlust #foundmyself" read his tongue-in-cheek caption.

Without his trademark mo, however, Brett's followers had a bit of trouble recognising him.

"Honestly unrecognisable," wrote one in the comments.

"So different! Looks good!" added another.

"Wow the transformation," remarked a third.

We're not sure what prompted Brett's shaving session but he's not the only MAFS star to mix things up post-show.

His former 'bride,' musician Booka Nile, recently switched up her look, along with Coco Stedman, Belinda Vickers and Patrick Dwyer.

And Alana Lister had fans in shock after sharing several throwback snaps of herself pre-surgery.
