MAFS' Anthony praised after 'heartbreaking' dinner party fight with Selin

Just when viewers thought Anthony Cincotta and Selin Mengu’s relationship was on the mend, the controversial Married At First Sight couple engaged in a fiery war of words during Wednesday night’s dinner party.

The argument began when the 32-year-old bride overheard her ‘husband’ telling fellow participant Selina Chhaur about how he had tried to put in effort and be a gentleman throughout their relationship.

“He’s sitting there like his s**t don’t stink. Sorry, it does,” Selin said loudly to the table before turning her attention directly to Anthony.

“Don’t sit here and say ‘I’m a gentleman, I’m this, I’m that’. I’m sick of hearing it. Don’t f**king bulls**t me.”

“I’m giving you so much and I’m getting absolutely nothing back,” Anthony replied, to which Selin asked, “What are you giving me? What are you doing?!”.

The pro-wrestler then shared he had been getting coffees and ordering dinner for his ‘wife’, but she quickly shut down his response by dropping a bombshell.

“Off you went storming down f**king how many kilometres getting me McDonald’s in the rain. You sent me that god damn receipt. $16.75,” she yelled, leaving the group shocked.

“You sent me a receipt and your account details! So don’t sit here and be a f**king man.”

Anthony, whose hands were shaking at this point, then claimed that she had actually asked for the receipt and she was “clutching onto straws”.

“I’m a genuine good person!” he said. “You don’t have the capability for a relationship. You don’t.”

Following the incident, Anthony was praised by fellow groom Cody for standing his ground and hashing things out.

“That first dinner party you didn’t want to say a thing, so that was much needed,” he remarked.

Viewers also took to social media during the episode to commend Anthony for sticking up for himself.

“Anthony shouting across the table at Selin made my heart swell, not going to lie,” one person wrote, while another added, “Anthony deserves better”.

“Watching Anthony’s hands shake as he said his piece to Selin was heartbreaking. He’s such a good guy, but he really needs to walk away,” a third tweeted.

“Anthony is such a nice kind polite guy - he was actually shaking confronting Selin. He was THAT frustrated and hated doing it too,” someone else pointed out.

“You know a relationship is in the toilet when you're quibbling over the Macca’s receipt,” a different user joked.

Meanwhile, plenty of people shared their hopes that they both write ‘leave’ at the next commitment ceremony and finally exit the experiment.
