Logies thrown into chaos as huge star pulls out 48 hours before

"I've told them to shove it in their a**e."

The TV WEEK Logies have been thrown into chaos after Kyle Sandilands revealed he had pulled out of his presenting duties 48 hours before the ceremony.

Kyle, who is a judge on Channel Seven's Australian Idol, had agreed to present the award for Most Outstanding Children's Program alongside his 11-month-old son Otto – before changing his mind at the last minute.

Speaking on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Friday, the shock jock revealed the surprisingly sweet reason he said he'd no longer be attending the event and that a replacement would need to be found ASAP.

“I've been asked to present something, but I've had to pull the pin," Kyle told listeners and co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson. "I've told them to shove it in their a**e, my exact words yesterday.

"My thing was, I had to bring my child out, he's not even one, and it was supposed to be at ten past eight, but they can't guarantee it won't be before 9PM. I said, 'I've got a baby, I can't be [waiting around] with a baby.'"

The radio host revealed his wife Tegan wasn't so keen on the idea either, explaining, "My wife said, 'What does [Otto] get out of it? He's just a bit of arm candy for you to get on TV.' And I couldn't agree against it so I told them I'm not going.”

Jackie, who is still set to attend the awards, was shocked at Kyle's decision.

Sunday night marks the first time the Logies have been held in Sydney for 30 years, and it's the first time Seven will be broadcasting the awards since 1995.

Sam Pang will be hosting the awards show, with a number of stars set to present awards, including Celeste Barber, Sophie Monk, Joel Creasey and more.

There is no word yet on who will replace Kyle to present Most Outstanding Children's Program.
