"I’ve got shocking memories, like horrible memories..."

The radio host played Johnny O'Keefe's 1964 song She Wears My Ring, telling listeners it was his father's favourite song before sharing the story.

"It’s sad. I thought if I ever did my life story it would start with this song and full-on domestic violence with two little children playing with a train set pretending that nothing was wrong," he said. "I’ve got shocking memories, like horrible memories... And then the police would show up and dad would get carted away."

He then added, changing his tone, "But don't feel sorry for me! We've got Taylor Swift tickets to give away later."

"F**k you!" Jackie O responded. "For putting me in this state."

"That's what I do, I'm a storyteller," Kyle quipped.

Kyle has previously broken down on air when speaking about his father, who died of cancer in 2016.

In February, Kyle spoke with a listener who asked if he should invite his absentee father to his wedding, with the radio host sharing his own story.

"I took my mum's side and I tortured my dad for years. When he came back around I made it as difficult as possible for him," he detailed. "I actually got off on how sad he was, and how much he tried to make good. I actually enjoyed watching him suffer because I felt that he needed to suffer like we did."

Kyle continued: "I regretted it and I thought, what a waste of time that was. Now that he's gone, we can't speak, he can't say anything.

"What a waste of time, and we could have had it with him. You never get over it, you continue to torture yourself and you regret your actions."

While their relationship was rocky as Kyle was growing up, they patched things up before his father passed away following a battle with liver and bowel cancer.

"We had a great relationship at the end there," he said.
