Logies 2023: Everything you need to know about TV's night of nights
The big event is back in Sydney for the first time in 30 years.
Get ready to roll out the red carpet and bask in the glitz and glamour of the 63rd TV Week Logie Awards as the event makes a grand return to Sydney after a 30-year hiatus.
Television's night of nights promises to be a star-studded affair as always, celebrating Australia's best and brightest talents of the small screen. Here's everything you need to know about the Logies for 2023.
A night of stars and splendour
The Logie Awards bring together the crème de la crème of Australian TV talent. From Most Popular Presenter to Most Outstanding Children's Program, the coveted awards recognise excellence in every aspect of the small screen. So when the stars descend upon the red carpet, be prepared for dazzling fashion choices and memorable style statements in typical glamorous Logies style.
A majestic return to Sydney
That's right folks, after a brief stint on the Gold Coast, and a very long run in Melbourne, the Logies are coming back to Sydney for the first time in 30 years, with the red carpet set to roll out at The Star. In another long awaited reunion, Channel 7 will be broadcasting the event for the first time since 1995, when Ray Martin took the Gold Logie home for his work on A Current Affair.
A host to steal the show
This year, the Logies welcomes comedian Sam Pang as official host, breaking an 11-year tradition of not having a dedicated master of ceremonies. Known for his quick wit and infectious humour, Sam is set to guide viewers through the four-hour broadcast with his signature charm. While he admits it will be different without a "buzzer or beer" in front of him, he's promised viewers an entertaining evening chock-full of glamorous humour.
One Logie to rule them all
The prestigious Gold Logie, awarded to the Most Popular Personality on Australian television, is the pinnacle of the Logie Awards. Last year's winner, Hamish Blake, returns to defend his title against a formidable line-up of nominees: Julia Morris, Leigh Sales, Mark Coles Smith, Osher Günsberg, Shaun Micallef and Sonia Kruger.
Where to watch and how to vote
To catch the 63rd TV Week Logie Awards, be sure to tune in to Channel 7 on Sunday afternoon, July 30, 2023. While exact broadcast details haven't yet been released, things usually kick off on the red carpet around 4pm.
