Logies 2022: Sunrise star Sam Mac's brutal swipe at Today's Ally Langdon

Ally Langdon was surprised on Sunday night when Sunrise presenter Sam Mac took a brutal swipe at the Today Show at the 2022 Logies.

Sam took aim at the Today Show's recent lacklustre ratings while presenting Most Outstanding Reality Show with Ally.

"Hello to our rival breakfast show, the Today show, possibly our biggest rivals behind the ABC," Sam said with the audience groaning and Ally looking uncomfortable.

Sam continued with the digs after Ally said she'd "stopped listening" as he spoke about her co-host Karl Stefanovic not being onstage to present the award, sarcastically joking that he was glad there are "no egos on breakfast TV anymore".

Tom Gleeson also poked fun at the Today show while reminiscing on his infamous Gold Logie speech in 2019 where he mocked the awards show mercilessly, saying, "I wasn’t drunk early in the morning in the third-highest rating breakfast show, am I right? I did it where it belongs.

"Third-highest rating breakfast show," he added.

Karl famously hosted the Today Show the day after the Logies in 2009 and was clearly still intoxicated from the night before, slurring his words and unable to stop laughing.
