Yahoo's live coverage of the 2025 Golden Globes has concluded.. We brought you all the dazzling red carpet looks as well as the big winners and losers of the night as awards season officially kicks off. There were some big Aussie names up for awards this year including Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Guy Pearce. Sadly for them, they walked away empty handed.
American comedian Nikki Glaser became the first woman to host the Golden Globes by herself and was praised for her performance.

Host Nikki Glaser has delivered her opening address at the Golden Globes and she's taken a pop at plenty of the big names present.
And of course there was a Nicole Kidman joke in there, with Glaser thanking husband Keith Urban for playing guitar around the house all the time, forcing Kidman to leave home and go make movies.
The A-list couple enjoyed the gag and were both seen laughing thankfully.
After Emilia Pérez took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, the film's star Karla Sofía Gascón delivered a powerful speech to close the night.
Gascón, who made history as the first transgender woman to be nominated as a lead actress for a film at the Golden Globes, began with a heartfelt and uplifting message: "The light always wins over darkness."
She went on to honor the resilience of the trans community, saying, "You can maybe put us in jail, you can beat us up, but you never can take away our soul, our existence, our identity. I want to say to you: Raise your voice ... and say, 'I am who I am, not who you want.'"
Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres, who stars in I'm Still Here, dedicated her award for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama to her mother, who attended the Golden Globe Awards as a nominee.
"I want to dedicate [the award] to my mother," Torres said in her speech, referring to Fernanda Montenegro, who was nominated for her role in the 1998 film Central Station. "You have no idea, she was here 25 years ago."
She added that this is "proof that art can endure through life, even in difficult moments."
Torres was the second Brazilian actress to be nominated for a Golden Globe, while her mother was the first, according to the Golden Globes.
Elton John has made light of his recent sight issues by jokingly introducing co-host Brandi Carlile as Rihanna. He recently announced he's lost sight in his right eye, prompting concern from fans.
"I want to reassure everybody it's not as bad as it seems, so I'm so pleased to be here with my co-host Rihanna," he said, prompting laughter from the audience.
Elton John erupted with delight when Carlile revealed Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won Best Original Score for a Motion Picture for Challengers.
Demi Moore held back tears as she hailed what she called her first major win in her 45-year career. She won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance.
The 62-year-old has had two other individual nominations at the Golden Globes, the first coming in 1991 for Ghost. She has never been nominated for an Oscar.
She said the win was a reminder she "does belong" in the industry.
"Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me I was a popcorn actress, and at that time, I made that mean that this wasn't something I was allowed to have," she said. "That I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged. And I bought in and I believed that," she recalled.
The Best Motion Picture that's Non-English Language has gone to Emilia Pérez and the most nominated film is gaining momentum. Director Jacques Audiard needed a translator to deliver his acceptance speech as he declared "I don't speak English".
The audience warmly welcomed his speech despite him apologising it may have been boring.
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo showed off her impressive nails earlier which took a remarkable five hours to complete.
The actress is nominated for her performance in the adapted musical and told E! News she "always" has some green on her.

English star Jessica Gunning has won Best Supporting Female Actor for her iconic role as Martha in the show.
She began her speech with an X-rated joke as she stumbled up the steps to the stage.
"You nearly saw my Golden Globes there," she said, prompting laughs from the audience.
She went on to say how the show had changed her life and offered her thanks to its creator Richard Gadd.

Zoe Saldaña has won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for her role in Emilia Pérez.
She struggled to hold off tears as she delivered a lengthy acceptance speech that went for so long that her allotted time ran out and music played over the top. She tried to tell them to stop the music, but was awkwardly unsuccessful.
