Lisa Wilkinson tipped to leave The Project after Carrie Bickmore
A TV insider has claimed Lisa Wilkinson will be the next Project host to leave the show after Carrie Bickmore announced she will be leaving at the end of the year.
Carrie broke down in tears when she made the announcement on Tuesday night, revealing she will be leaving at the end of the year after 13 years at the desk.
Entertainment journalist Peter Ford took to Twitter after the host's announcement and claimed that Lisa would be next to leave the show.
"It’s an odd show. I’m tipping Lisa won’t be there next year so it’s quite a seismic shift," he wrote.
Speaking of Carrie, Peter added, "They’ve lost their biggest asset. Nobody is indispensable but there are some people easier to lose than others."

When asked by a follower if Carrie is "heading to Nine's ACA", Peter simply responded, "No."
In response to another follower who wrote that they "love Carrie" and that she "seems a genuinely nice person", Peter added that he saw her resignation coming, "She sure is! But she had a few months off mid year so that to me clearly indicated someone with itchy feet."

Lisa joined The Project in 2017, after being axed from Nine's Today Show, which she hosted for ten years alongside Karl Stefanovic.
The presenter took to Instagram following Carrie's announcement with a tribute, writing, "Long before @bickmorecarrie and I were @theprojecttv colleagues, we were mates off air working at different networks. And I feel so lucky to have now also shared the last five years at the Project desk with you, Carrie."
She continued, "Your friendship and generosity have meant the world to me. Thanks too for your guidance and support right from day one…and for always knowing just the right moment to reach out with a kind word.
I will forever be in awe of the way you have managed to juggle it all so superbly for the last 13 incredible years: awesome mum, journalist, charity patron, and chief wrangler of [Tommy Little].
"We mere mortals will never know how you did it all with so much grace, good humour and all that glamour. (Let’s face it, you’ve always been the best-dressed one at the desk - sorry Waleed, @pjhelliar & Hamish, but you know it’s true!)
"I know what a huge decision this has been for you, and we are all going to miss you terribly come year’s end. Can’t wait to see what comes next in your extraordinary life, or to share that next glass of wine - or five - with you!
"All my love and admiration, always, L."
