Lisa Marie Presley revealed in her autobiography that she kept her son Benjamin Keough's body in her house for two months after his death in 2020. Her memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, was released with the help of daughter Riley Keough, 35, after Lisa Marie's death in January 2023.

The only daughter of Elvis Presley shared her son Benjamin, who died by suicide at 27, with her ex-husband Danny Keogh, who is also father to Daisy Jones and the Six star Riley. Lisa Marie also had two other daughters, twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, 16.

In her book, Lisa Marie wrote, "I think it would scare the living f***ing piss out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me."

"My house has a separate casitas bedroom, and I kept Ben Ben in there for two months. There is no law in the state of California that you have to bury someone immediately," she added. "I found a very empathetic funeral homeowner... She said, 'We’ll bring Ben Ben to you.'"

Riley writes in the book that she and Lisa Marie wanted to get matching ink with Benjamin. When the tattoo artist asked if Lisa Marie had photos of Benjamin's tattoos, she said, "No, but I can show you."

"Lisa Marie Presley had just asked this poor man to look at the body of her dead son, which happened to be right next to us in the casitas," Riley says. "I’ve had an extremely absurd life, but this moment is in the top five."

The actress went on to say that her mum "got the vibe" that Benjamin should be laid to rest after getting the matching tattoos.

"Even my mom said that she could feel him talking to her, saying, 'This is insane, Mom, what are you doing? What the f**k!'" Riley says, adding she was "struggling to stay alive" during the funeral of her brother, which was held in Malibu.

Riley also shared, "We found a text sent to my mom a couple of weeks before he died that read, 'I think something’s wrong with me mentally or something like that. I think I have a mental health issue.'

"It’s heartbreaking to me that he only realized he might need help just two weeks before he killed himself."

Benjamin was later laid to rest at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Three years later, Lisa Marie died of a heart attack at the age of 53. She was buried next to her son and her father, Elvis.
