Besides the Stitch first look, no footage of the humans in Lilo & Stitch was shared. Newcomer Maia Kealoha is set to play Lilo in the live-action version of the Hawaii-set 2002 animated pic, originally developed for Disney+ before shifting to a theatrical release. The cast also includes Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen.
Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On) directs the film, which follows the relationship between a lonely girl named Lilo and Stitch, an alien engineered to be a force of destruction.
Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the script from a previous draft by Mike Van Waes. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich produce for Rideback, with Ryan Halprin exec producing for the company.
