Keith Urban Explained His Daughter Sunday Rose's Shocking Accent
People were surprised after hearing the 16-year-old speak following her runway debut.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, made her runway debut at the Miu Miu spring-summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week—and while everyone was impressed with the teen's modeling skills, they were equally as fascinated by her unique accent.
Following the show, Sunday's interview with Vogue went viral after people heard the 16-year-old speak for one of the first times ever. "Hi my name is Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and this is my first show," Sunday said in a video posted to the outlet's Instagram, adding: "We're at the Miu Miu show in Paris." In the comments, many wrote about how surprised they were by her voice, noting that it was Aussie with a slight Southern twang.
But to Urban, it's nothing out of the ordinary. When asked about his daughter's accent during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he sweetly replied: "She's just our daughter."
He went on to rave about her walk down the runway, telling the publication, "It was great. I thought she did great."
Kidman was also proud of Sunday's catwalk debut and shared what advice she gave her before the show while speaking with E! News on Wednesday. "I was just like, ‘You got this baby,’” the actress said. “I'm trying to give her her own space, you know? [Not be] overbearing or dominant in any way.” She added that she's "incredibly proud and supportive" of the teenager's pursuit of modeling and that she's "just there for her. Just being a mom."
