MKR viewers left horrified over kitchen mishap: 'Huge failure'

The drama has continued to boil over on My Kitchen Rules, with the teams participating in the first Kitchen HQ battle in the dreaded 'Pick a Fridge' challenge, with the team with the worst dish of the day heading into the upcoming elimination cook-off.

The challenge for the teams competing by cooking the main course saw every fridge filled with a 'hero' protein which included lamb, chicken, and offal — and for those uneducated on cooking offal (aka me) it basically is the internal organs of a butchered animal. Don't usually catch that at your local metro Woolies, I can tell you that much.

It was Lawrence and Hannah who left a (literal) bad taste in the judges' mouths after they cooked their lamb dish, with MKR viewers horrified at the end result of what appeared to be one of the easier proteins to be cooking.

The loved-up duo didn't exactly go in confident with the mystery fridge idea, with Hannah saying early on, "I don't want to pick a fridge! I want to know what I am cooking," before saying she was praying to god that they wouldn't get offal.

Thankfully for them, they didn't, but also unfortunately somehow they managed to completely fumble their lamb dish after Lawrence took on the duties of 'head chef' after they previously got a better score when he was in charge.

Upon getting the lamb out of the oven, Lawrence sliced off the first piece, with Hannah deeming it was "perfect" until Lawrence then cut through the middle of the rack and was presented with... well, what looked like raw lamb. Maybe that's what offal is meant to look like, actually? IDK I'm not a chef, Colin or Manu, call me.

"I don't know what's happened, I don't know what's went wrong," Lawrence said in his voxxie. "Was the oven on?"

Don't think so, fam.

The whole dish — a garlic and parmesan-crumbed lamb with pea puree — was then presented to Manu and Colin, who were basically forced to eat raw lamb. Who said these guys don't deserve the big bucks?

For those watching at home, they couldn't quite believe their eyes when it came to Lawrence and Hannah's dish — and this was even after Janey and Maddie's offal attempt. I'm still not convinced offal is a real word, but I digress.

"Janey and daughter's dish looked like a dog's breakfast, but the worst thing you can do in a cooking competition is serve raw meat," one person commented. "Lawrence: 'it's not cooked enough' ... um mate IT'S NOT COOKED AT ALL.. lol," another person laughed.

"That was terrible, I love lamb but that was just a huge failure," someone else said. "Well done Lawrence & Hannah. You wanted it and got the easiest protein, yet you still managed to crucify it," someone else said. "That's arrogance, as you mentioned entering a cooking show after learning from YouTube for 1.5 years and believe you're good enough."

"Leaving that fat cap on the lamb and making waffles shows that Lawrence is not an experienced cook," another at-home chef said. "He and Hannah are on the show because they know people in the industry."

"Lawrence and Hannah can’t cook, they are there for controversy," someone else speculated.
