'My Lego model on display in Denmark is a dream'
A woman who spends her spare time building unique creations from Lego bricks has said being featured in the Masterpiece Gallery at Lego House in Denmark is "a dream come true".
Lego artist Victoria Worsley from Cheadle in Stockport is one of 15 designers picked from across the world to have her work displayed in the Billund, where the Lego headquarters are based, over the next 12 months.
The mother-of-two describes herself as an AFOL - an adult fan of Lego - and is part of a growing community of adults who are passionate about the toy.
"I was first interested in Lego as a child but then when my children got back into it I was more interested in it than they were," she said.
She said: "They would go to bed and I'd carry on playing with the Lego and it hasn't stopped since then."
Ms Worsley's two children are now grown up, aged 18 and 20, but her passion for building models has continued.
"During Covid I had more time to spend on my hobbies and on social media I discovered that other people were also doing this," she said.
"It was lovely to find my people."
Ms Worsley set up her Instagram page Bricktoria and was soon being invited to exhibit her builds at exhibitions across the country.
She was spotted by Lego after showcasing her models at Bricktastic in Manchester in 2024.
Ms Worsley is now hoping to inspire other adults, particularly women, to rekindle their love for the toy.
"You're only limited by your imagination," she said.
"Although there are a lot of men and obviously children who enjoy it I would encourage mums out there to just keep playing with the Lego because it really is for everybody."
