Yahoo Lifestyle The Latest 'Yellowstone' Update Has Longtime Fans Upset
Still mourning the end of Yellowstone? You’re not alone! Fortunately for fans, new episodes of the Yellowstone Official Podcast are just days away.
As a refresher, the Yellowstone Official Podcast first launched in December 2021. Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, iHeartPodcasts, and 101 Studios, the weekly podcast, which dropped new episodes on Mondays, was designed to be a companion to the Sunday night show. In each episode, stars Jefferson White (Jimmy) and Jen Landon (Teeter) sat down to unpack the on-screen events of the night prior, and the tradition went on to include the entire Yellowstone franchise (hello, 1883 and 1923), not just the OG show.
It’s been almost two years since the last episode of the podcast dropped but now, nationally syndicated host Bobby Bones is taking over with a highly-anticipated eight-episode limited-series to celebrate the beloved modern Western drama. Only, this time, episodes will drop on Thursdays. The best part? Members of the cast and crew will join him in paying homage to the show’s characters, stunning landscapes, and jaw-dropping family dynamics so that fans can relive the magic while listening.
"I’ve been such a fan of Yellowstone from the start,” Bobby said in a release. “I’m excited to jump in and work with them at a deeper level to give insight for other fans of the show… While I probably won’t wear a cowboy hat while on the podcast, it will be entertaining.”
The show's official Instagram account shared the news, and, while fans were excited to hear about the podcast's return, some were disappointed by the hosting change. They left comments like, "Gonna miss Jefferson as a host, he was so insightful!" and "Why isn’t Jefferson hosting it like previous seasons?"
Jefferson himself hopped in the comments section to write, "👑👑👑 can’t wait to listen!" and a fan said, "Was looking so forward to you and Jen hosting 😢 Will give it a listen however was looking forward to this last Podcast series with you 😢🙏🏻✌️❤️"
The first episode of the Yellowstone Official Podcast, featuring Wendy Moniz (Governor Lynelle Perry) is live now on all major listening platforms, and new episodes will drop on Thursdays.
