Lady Gaga Goes Retro With Playful L.A. Roxx Polka-dot Minidress for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Cast Arrival at the 2024 Venice Film Festival
Lady Gaga arrived to the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Monday, in time for the cast Q&A and screening of Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Gaga stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the sequel to the 2019 Oscar-winning film.
For her arrival at the film festival, Gaga wore a custom black-and-white polka-dot minidress courtesy of costume house L.A. Roxx. The minidress featured a black base with oversize white polka dots in a symmetrical design. Gaga’s look also included a cinched waist tied with a coordinated belt and slightly flared sleeves.

Gaga wore a pair of sheer tights in a shade of dark gray, along with a pair of pointed toe black heels to complete her look. She accessorized her attire with a pair of bold black sunglasses. The singer and actress was styled by Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo. She posed for photos with her fiancé Michael Polansky.
While the Oscar-winning performer’s style has evolved over the course of the last several years, Gaga frequently uses fashion to evoke a theme or a new project. While attending the “Chromatica Ball” film premiere last May, Gaga embraced her dramatic roots in a sculptural piece by Berlin-based Argentinian designer Selva. She wore a second custom look by Germany-based designer Aziz Rebar during the film’s Q&A.
With several stars embracing method dressing on the red carpet this year, including Jenna Ortega for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and Zendaya for “Challengers,” Gaga may be leaning into her own iteration on method dressing in time for her “Joker: Folie à Deux” press tour.
In the film, Gaga plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Oscar-winning turn as Arthur Fleck (Joker). The film features Gaga in various costumes, including retro ’70s-inspired pieces and an interpretation of Harley Quinn’s iconic red, white and black costume.
