Taylor Swift Switches Up Her Style for Latest Public Outing: ‘What’s Happening’

Taylor Swift has reliably been wearing a lot of plaid and muted colors in the past few months when spotted in public, and while some fans have chalked it up to her getting into the autumnal spirit, others have been convinced it was an Easter egg about a possible album drop.

But now after her latest style switch up, even the most diehard Swifties are at a loss for what it could mean.

Swift was seen on Nov. 8 in New York City wearing a multi-colored striped corset dress that felt more summer than fall. She paired the Vivienne Westwood Sunday dress with a Granny Frame purse from the same designer, completing the look with burgundy velvet Aquazurra Twist 95 sandals, reports People. She accessorized further with a gold pendant necklace and bracelet.

Swift deviated from her signature red lipstick, opting instead for a coral hue, matching eyeshadow and winged liner, and wore her hair in an updo with soft waves.

Fans on social media noticed the style change, commenting “No boots. No plaid 🥺 what’s happening.” Others were not confused by the look as much as they were impressed by it, with one X user writing “TAY TAY ALWAYS SERVIN’ LOOKS WHEN DOES SHE NOT SLAY🔥.”

Another commented that the outfit reminded them more of another pop star, writing, “This looks like something Chappell Roan would wear.”

Swift was out in New York City’s Meatpacking District, where she was spotted leaving the private member’s supper club Chez Margaux with actress Zöe Kravitz and comedian Jerrod Carmichael.

The “Cruel Summer” singer received several 2025 Grammy nominations earlier that day, though fans felt that she was unfairly overlooked in a category they thought she’d cinch.

"That is highway robbery," one declared on social media, with another dubbing the music awards the "scammys."
