Lady Amelia Windsor is going short for the summer!

The granddaughter of the Duke of Kent and second cousin once removed of King Charles debuted her new haircut on Instagram on May 30. Lady Amelia, 28, teased her new style by sharing a snap showing a pile of blonde hair on the floor with the eyes emoji before taking a mirror selfie video during her blow dry, showing off her new chin-sweeping bob.

Amelia, who is currently 43rd in the line of succession to the British throne, then posted a video of herself checking out her look in a mirror, smiling as she gave her head a shake.

Although Lady Amelia has experimented with different hair lengths through the years, including above-the-shoulder locks, her latest style might be the shortest cut she's experimented with yet. At the Chelsea Garden Show earlier this month, where she teamed up with Kent Wildflower Seeds to create a display, she wore her hair down reaching the middle of her back.

Amelia tagged hairstylist Frankie in her photos along with George Northwood, who owns a salon in the Fitzrovia district of central London.

Northwood worked closely with Meghan Markle during her time in the U.K., including being the stylist behind her evening wedding reception hair in 2018. After exchanging vows with Prince Harry at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, the newly-minted Duchess of Sussex changed into a different dress and refreshed her hair into a bun with loose face-framing pieces for the nighttime party.

Northwood also traveled as part of Meghan's glam squad on royal tours, including the couple's 2018 trip to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji as well as their visit to Ireland the same year.

"George is very likable, very cool and his signature look, which is slightly messy and a little undone, is perfect for her," a source who has worked with Northwood told PEOPLE at the time.

Northwood previously revealed to British Vogue that he met Meghan in February 2018, and they quickly hit it off despite some initial nerves on his part.

"I was a bit worked up beforehand and then, as soon as I met her, she was just like my California girl clients,” Northwood told the outlet in 2020. "She said, ‘I’m a Cali girl,' and I just said, ‘One of my favorites then.' We hit it off — we immediately spoke the same language."

The hairdresser said he designed looks for Meghan based on what royal duty she was attending to that day, and trying to bring a bit of that “California girl” flair.

"The way she approaches things is how an everyday woman would approach things — she has a real sense of style and she wanted to look approachable, even though she was a princess,” he said. “She was a very modern princess, the sort of princess we can relate to and aspire to, and the hair just fell into that."
