Kyle Sandilands reveals eye-watering sum spent on son's first birthday: 'Are you joking?'

Radio host Kyle Sandilands has revealed the whopping amount he’s spent on his son’s first birthday, leaving his co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson stunned.

In a segment for The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Kyle revealed that the bill for his son Otto’s first birthday party came in at a casual $25,000.

“Are you serious?!” Jackie O exclaimed upon hearing the fun fact. Newsreader Brooklyn Ross was also in disbelief, asking Kyle if he was joking.

The party is taking place this weekend and is to be held at Kyle’s home with over 60 people in attendance – 24 children, and 38 adults.

Kyle, 52, said that the event is being planned by a children’s party specialist and that his wife, Tegan Kynaston, had also bought an array of things including lollies, plates, and “weird tablecloths” that added more to the original $25,000 bill.

However, the radio host said that in celebration of his son’s birthday, he was also going to be giving away gifts to other kids, for any KIIS FM listener who calls up to wish Otto a happy birthday this Friday.

“My kid, he doesn’t know,” Kyle said. “I buy him a gift and he’ll spend two hours playing with the wrapping paper and couldn't care less about the gift.”

Kyle and Tegan welcomed Otto in August 2022, the first child for both of them. The two married earlier this year in a lavish $1 million event in Darling Point in Sydney.

It was later revealed the shock jock spent a further $500,000 on his honeymoon, which consisted of a three-week holiday in St Tropez in the South of France.
