Kyle Sandilands breaks down $500k honeymoon expenses: 'Worth it'
The radio host recently spent $1 million on his wedding to Tegan Kynaston.
Kyle Sandilands left his radio listeners gobsmacked after he and his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson revealed the eye-watering amount of money he spent on his extravagant honeymoon.
The 52-year-old shock jock, who paid over $1 million for his wedding in April, enjoyed three weeks in Europe with his wife Tegan Kynaston and their 11-month-old son Otto.
He was also joined by Jackie, her 12-year-old daughter Kitty, and producers Brooklyn Ross and Jamiee Blazquez for the first week as they broadcast their radio show live from France.
Speaking about the honeymoon on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning, Jackie read Kyle his credit card expenses from the trip for the very first time.
“I can’t believe the amount of money you’ve spent on certain things, [it] blows my mind,” she told him.

Accommodation
First, Jackie revealed that Kyle’s villa in Saint-Tropez cost him $155,000 for just over two weeks of accommodation.
He also spent four nights in Barcelona in a “big presidential suite” for $50,000. While Kyle tried to point out that the cost would have included the nanny’s additional room, Jackie said it was a “separate expense” she hadn’t factored into the amount.
Airfares and transfers
As for airfares, Kyle paid $35,000 for return flights for himself and Tegan in first class.
The Australian Idol judge also paid $80,000 in total to hire two private jets to fly him from Paris to Saint-Tropez and Saint-Tropez to Barcelona because he “couldn’t bear the thought of getting on an economy plane”.
“I always think it’s worth it,” he added. “Fly private, there’s no better way, in all honesty.”
He went on to share that he spent $25,000 to have a driver on standby for the entire trip “in case someone wanted to go somewhere”, as well as $3000 to have a boat on standby in Saint-Tropez.
“That was just for getting around in that little wooden speedboat,” he explained. “I think I got on it once. Tegan was on there a few times.”
Kyle’s car rental set him back $12,000, while he also paid $7500 to fly Kyle & Jackie O’s producer Peter Deppeler to join them “last minute”.
Food and drink
Jackie admitted she couldn’t understand how Kyle managed to spend a whopping $60,000 on meals for the three-week holiday.
However, Kyle explained that they only went to expensive restaurants and he paid for his colleagues’ meals on a few occasions.

He also spent $12,650 on alcohol and “expensive champagne”, despite the fact that he doesn’t even drink, and $20,000 in tips.
“This is where I’m a wanker,” he said. “I tip huge, and I don’t know why. Tegan’s always like, ‘Babe, you don’t need to tip that much’. It’s always either whatever the cost of the food is or half of the cost of the food, I tip well.”
“I feel like they didn’t even expect tips over there. They were quite surprised when you tipped,” Jackie replied, while Brooklyn pointed out France is “not even a tipping country”.
“Actually you got me there, you’re right,” Kyle acknowledged. “That was stupid, I could’ve saved that.”
Additional costs
On top of everything else, Kyle spent $3500 on travel insurance, $3500 on jet skiing, $5750 on cigarettes and vapes, and $6000 during an “accidental” visit to the casino. Meanwhile, his nanny’s accommodation, travel and food expenses cost $21,000.
In total, Jackie revealed that Kyle spent $513,430 for his entire European honeymoon.
“You can’t replace those memories,” he tried to explain. “Well actually, that’s bullshit. I could go out and buy a brand new Supercar for $500,000.
“In all honesty, I was so high for most of it I don’t have any memories. And by the way, you don’t have to beep that out because you’re allowed to smoke weed in France and you’re allowed to be stoned as a mothereffer in Spain.
“If I flick back through Tegan’s Instagram photos I’m sure the memories will come flooding back.”
