Kyle Sandilands, 50, engaged to Tegan Kynaston, 35
Kyle Sandilands is engaged!
The shock jock, 50, proposed to his 35-year-old girlfriend, Tegan Kynaston over the weekend while on a romantic getaway in Far North Queensland.
Kyle's lavish proposal
Kyle announced the happy news live on the Kyle & Jackie O Show on Monday morning, with several photos and a video of the moment he got down on one knee being uploaded to the show's Instagram account.
Radio star Kyle spent a solid 15 minutes taking his co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson through every detail from his special Saturday evening in Port Douglas.
"She had no idea. No clue. I was very sneaky about the whole thing," he said proudly.
Kyle revealed that he'd duped Tegan — his former personal assistant — into attending what she thought was a pop-up art gallery on a pontoon which he'd secretly decked out for the proposal.

After leading his future bride down a candle-lined red carpet, Kyle and Tegan entered the wooden boatshed which had been filled with purple and pink lighting, and candles and flowers littered the floor and walls.
"I swung the doors open and it was beautiful and she knew instantly because there were candles and soft lining," he said.
As Tegan, who was wearing a white crochet two-piece outfit, looked on in surprise, Kyle got down on one knee and presented her with a large diamond ring.
When Jackie pressed him for details on what he said to his fiancée while on bended knee, Kyle played coy and simply said it was "nice soppy rubbish".
The couple then shared a kiss as sparklers went off in the background and a pink neon sign on the wall read, "She said yes".
"You two look so in love," Jackie gushed.
A hitch in the plan
But not everything went to plan, as Kyle admitted. He told Jackie that he 'screwed up the order' of proceedings, revealing he'd flown in one of Tegan's friends before he'd even had the chance to ask the all-important question.
He'd also intended to have Conrad Sewell fly in from overseas to perform the couple's favourite song live but his plans were dashed when the Aussie singer contracted Covid.
"Two days before I was gonna [propose] I'm in the pool swimming around, thinking 'Yep, I've got this all together'. Everything was planned... And Conrad rang me very upset. He got COVID," Kyle said.
Kyle instead had Conrad's song, "LIFE" playing over speakers on the night.
By all accounts, it was an emotional night with Kyle telling Jackie that had a 'quivery lip' when asking Tegan, who's he's been dating since late 2019, to marry him.
With the big question out of the way, the pair enjoyed a fireworks display from the pontoon before sitting down to a lavish multi-course dinner.
"I swung open another door and there was an amazing dinner I'd set up," Kyle said. "I brought in chefs, servants, some lady playing the harp in the corner."
In homage to the traditional local cuisine, the menu featured Australian native animals such as crocodiles and kangaroos as well as a luxe spring roll glittered with 24 karat gold flakes.
Toward the end of their chat, Jackie grilled Kyle on the finer details of the couple's wedding which the groom-to-be said will happen 'at some stage in the future'.
"I don't know. We haven't actually thought about whether it will be this year or next year," he said.
Kyle did confirm that the event will take place in Sydney and not somewhere overseas such as Italy 'because of Covid'.
Baby plans
As well as walking down the aisle at some point, Kyle and Tegan are keen to start a family together.
Kyle revealed that he underwent fertility testing and received the ‘all clear’ last December and later opened up to Sydney Confidential about why he changed his mind and now wants kids.
“When you think about it, because my mates have all got kids… young ones, and now I feel a bit left out,” he said.
“At first when they were showing me videos of this kid walking, I was like, ‘Who cares? Big deal’. But now I look forward to it when my godchild comes over.”
Kyle has been very open about his efforts to conceive a child with Tegan after first announcing it on Kyle and Jackie O back in August.
The former Australian Idol judge said at the time that sex was different when a couple is attempting to get pregnant because it lacks passion and romance when it's scheduled.
Kyle was in an eight-year relationship with Big Brother star Imogen Anthony, and was also previously married to singer Tamara Jaber from 2008 to 2010.
