Kyle Sandilands' surprise baby update: 'Been tested'

Kyle Sandilands has opened up about his efforts to conceive a child with his girlfriend Tegan Kynaston, revealing that he intends to undergo fertility testing.

The 50-year-old made the admission during a candid chat on the KIIS FM drive show Will & Woody on Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle was 'too selfish' to have kids

Kyle explained that he was 'open' to having children but admits he's been too 'selfish' to start a family.

"I'm open to having children, I've never really been really against it but it's just never really been in my world," he said.

"I don't know about that, you've always been against it," interjected his co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson.

"I've been too selfish to have one, like, I thought maybe I'd have a kid one day but it's never been the right time," he added.

When quizzed about his girlfriend of two years, Kyle said that 35-year-old Tegan 'definitely wants kids,' before joking that his involvement would be limited to conception only.

"But then you got to look out for 20 years," Woody pointed out.

He then remarked that he 'might be shooting dust' prompting Will to ask if he'd 'been tested'.

While he didn't confirm either way, Kyle did say that he'd been supplied with a 'little jar' that had to be 'rushed back' to what is presumably a fertility clinic.

Kyle initially shared the news that he and Tegan were trying for a baby back in August during a segment with psychic Georgina Walker on The Kyle and Jackie O show.

He previously told Daily Mail Australia: "When you find the right person, things just feel right and it feels very natural to just go down that road."

He added that he had always envisioned having kids at some stage in his life.

"It's only been as I get older that I think, 'Maybe that is something that I want to start looking at'," he added.

Kyle and Tegan have been dating since late 2019, before that he was with model Imogen Anthony for eight years and was married to singer Tamara Jaber from 2008 to 2010.
