Keanu Reeves Says His 'Heart' Wants a “John Wick 5” but 'I Don't Know If My Knees Can Do It'
While another 'John Wick' movie may not be in the cards, Reeves reprises his character in the upcoming spinoff 'Ballerina'
Keanu Reeves' heart and knees are on different pages when it comes to doing another John Wick movie.
The 60-year-old actor made a recent appearance on CBS Mornings to promote his voice role of villain Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 alongside director Jeff Fowler, where he was asked about whether he'd ever make a fifth John Wick film.
"You can never say never — but my knees right now are saying, 'You can't do another John Wick,' " said Reeves, who reprises his popular assassin character in a cameo for the upcoming spinoff film From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.
He added, "So my heart [wants to], but I don't know if my knees can do it."
"Which is why you can voice Shadow for, like, decades to come — there are no physical limitations, just your voice!" joked Fowler, to which Reeves quipped, "I'm free!"

Released in 2014, the first John Wick starred Reeves as the titular hitman who gets revenge on Russian mobsters responsible for the death of his dog.
At a 10th-anniversary screening last month in Los Angeles, Reeves called the experience a “gift,” explaining, “I had so many wonderful teachers and guidance and worked with so many talented actors, actresses and stunt people, in the sense of it's such a dance and collaboration and cooperation."
"So there's a couple of times where you throw up or puke or whatever, but that's what makes it good,” the actor joked.
John Wick was a hit and turned into a massive franchise. To date, four action-packed movies have premiered and collectively made more than $1 billion worldwide, along with a prequel series The Continental, various video-game adaptations and a comic-book series.

Even with the different iterations, co-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch still feel Reeves is the only person who could take on the titular role, and firmly believe he played a crucial role in the success of the franchise.
In an interview with PEOPLE timed to the 10th anniversary of the first movie, Stahelski, 56, posed the question, "Could you have done John Wick without Keanu?" before quickly answering the question himself: "No, not the way you see it."
"The stoicism that John Wick shows is really a big part of who Keanu is," he continued. "You gotta see Keanu on set. I know everyone hears the stories, but he is always there early. He is always the first one there [and] the last one to leave."
"There really is no other person that could play John Wick," added Leitch, 49. "He brings, obviously, the passion, the physicality, and there's just this undeniable emotional quality to him, where you feel for him and he pulls at your heartstrings."
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is in theaters June 6.
