The inspiration behind Katy Perry's next single hits super close to home.

On Monday, July 29, the pop singer, 39, announced that her forthcoming single "Lifetimes" — the second featured on her upcoming album 143 — will be released on Friday, Aug. 9, along with a brand-new music video. She revealed the news on social media by posting the track's cover artwork, which pictures a futuristic-looking purple and red heart — labeled with her album's title — dripping clear liquid.

During a recent album listening event, Perry divulged more details to The Sun about the muse for her next single: her 3½-year-old daughter Daisy, whom she shares with longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom.

"It is funny how sometimes you’re looking for your soulmate in a partner. It could be a dog, your mum, your best friend, your cat... but for me it came in the form of Daisy," the Smile artist raved, confirming, "I wrote 'Lifetimes' about her."

Perry also shared a sweet story that seemingly influenced the title of the track, explaining, "Every night, before we go to sleep, I say, ‘I love you,' and then I ask, 'Will you find me in every lifetime?' and she says, 'Yes.'"

She added of her mini muse, “The love I was missing, every mountain I climbed looking for this view, all this love, it came to me when she entered my life."

Perry previewed a snippet of "Lifetimes" during a recent interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, singing lyrics like, "I love you for, I love you for life / Lifetimes / I know you feel it, can you believe it? / I'm going to love you til the end and then repeat it."

Elsewhere during her album event, Perry told The Sun what more fans can expect to hear on her 143 album when it drops on Sept. 20. "I always wanted to make a dance-pop record," she said. "One-third is more dance than I have ever done before. One-third is quintessential pop and then one-third is rhythmic.”

The singer's new comments echo the statement she shared in a press release for 143's July 10 announcement. "I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message," she noted of the project that's described as a "sexy, fearless return to form."
