Katie Holmes Wore a Little Crop Top With the Perfect Slouchy Fall Coat
It'll make you want to double up on camel.
Anyone looking for a master class in transitional dressing needs to take notes: Katie Holmes, who fashion fans can look to no matter the season for outfit inspiration, just wore the perfect combination of a little top and a big coat, making for the perfect between-season 'fit. Holmes, who has been out and about in New York in sheer tops, metallic flats, and polarizing LBDs, arrived at the Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel for an event celebrating the upcoming Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
Holmes wore a slouchy, oversized camel coat over a coordinating tan sweater vest with a cropped shape. It flashed just a tiny sliver of skin over her mid-rise, dark gray denim, and she finished the look with a pair of pointy kitten heels. The mix of big coat and crop top blended a summer staple with a fall go-to and her light, glowy makeup added to the overall laid-back and casual feel of the outfit.
According to People, Holmes is just one member of the 28-actor company involved in the play. She joins Emmy-winner Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Richard Thomas, Billy Eugene Jones, Michelle Wilson, Julie Halston, and Donald Webber Jr. The publication also notes that it's been more than two decades since the show was on Broadway. Previews are set to begin on September 17 ahead of opening night on October 10 at the Barrymore Theatre. The show first arrived on Broadway in 1938.
For anyone hoping to see Holmes on the small screen, she's set to appear in an episode of the upcoming sophomore season of Poker Face on Peacock, starring alongside Natasha Lyonne.
