Kate Middleton always has Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at the top of her mind.

Princess Kate, 43, attended the Irish Guards' St. Patrick's Day parade in London on March 17 to support the regiment she backs as ceremonial Colonel, and she shared a little bit with the parent whose daughter attends a rival school in sports.

Princess Kate spent time with guardsmen and their families after the military parade, where she got to meet 6-year-old Rory Irwin Clark and his mom, Carice.

"You're 6, the same age as my Louis," Princess Kate told Rory as she leaned down to shake hands, referencing her youngest child.

From there, Carice mentioned how she is familiar with the family.

"We so often see you at matches because our girls are always playing each other. They are Farleigh and Lambrook, so I think there’s stiff competition," said the proud parent, whose daughter is a fifth-year student like Princess Charlotte, 9.

"I was just saying, they’re doing so much sporting events," the royal replied.

"Now it’s getting a bit warmer, it’s a bit nicer for a spectator," Carice joked.

Kate's candid conversation follows Prince William's recent revelation that their weekend routine often revolves around their children's sports matches.

"At weekends, we go from one competition to the next," the Prince of Wales said behind the scenes of the Wales vs. England Six Nations Match that he attended with his wife on Saturday, March 15.

William, 42, offered the comment while meeting athletes supported by Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, a charity he backs as patron, where Kate said their sons are into rugby.

"Louis is 6, and he's just started touch rugby and George is 11 and he plays a bit more. They do really enjoy it. They've been exposed to lots of different sports," she said, according to Hello! magazine.

Sports seem to be on the schedule for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis both at home and at school. The Wales family has a tennis court at their country home, Anmer Hall, and sports are a key part of the student experience at the Lambrook School, which all three kids attend near their home in Windsor.

Elsewhere while meeting soldiers and families on St. Patrick's Day, Princess Kate shared why she and her family made the move from bustling London to tranquil Windsor two years ago.

"We are in Windsor at the moment," she said when someone asked where she and her family lived. "We were in London but moved there for more green space."

"It’s close enough to London, not too far away," she added of the easy convenience.

Prince William and Princess Kate moved with their kids from London to Windsor in the summer of 2022, bringing them geographically closer to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen was based at Windsor Castle in the last years of her life, and Robert Jobson wrote in the biography Catherine, Princess of Wales that Kate felt it was important for her husband to be near his grandmother as she got older.

"Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months, when he was required to support both her and his father. It made a real difference," Jobson wrote in the book, published in August 2024. "They were in regular contact, seeing each other in person and speaking on the phone several times a week, bringing them even closer."

Queen Elizabeth died in September 2022 at age 96, sparking King Charles' accession to the throne and William's advancement in the line of succession.
