Kate Barton Fall 2025: Expanding the Narrative

“This season is really about business and sales,” emerging designer Kate Barton said during a preview of her latest collection. With fall, the designer picked up where spring left off by developing an abundance of new styles for the everyday, without losing her distinct futurist, sculptural DNA.

Newness started with her first look: a hybrid dress made up of a leather moto jacket and miniskirt with signature mirrored leather accents and expanded into draped and tucked merino wool and cashmere knits with cheeky detachable, magnetized fish hook-shaped hardware. There was also a strong sculptural yet sporty pin-striped suit accessorized with a shiny light blue tie molded to look like it was blown in the wind.

“Each look has a playful element, and I think that’s something I really want to continue pushing with the brand. That it’s not so serious,” she explained. After the success of her sculptural goldfish bag, other fun moments included an expansion of her trompe l’oeil printed attire, like a form-fitting, zip-up jacket with maxiskirt, and fish-shaped charms that hung off the belt loops of a sexy pair of dark wash cigarette jeans.

The looks accompanied new takes on her signature dresses, expanding beyond mini and full-length liquidy sculpted core gowns into glistening sequined evening numbers and draped jersey options for day.

When designing her collection and concepting how she would showcase it, Barton mused about not only what she would want to wear every day, but also how the women that inspire her would style them.

“It felt like the right time for a digital rollout and a campaign about the women who have supported me from the beginning. Also, showing inspiring women from different fields coming together to support each other,” Barton said, coming full circle with her inspiration and photographing the collection on 12 women including the likes of Winnie Harlow, Dee Hilfiger, Bianca Lawson, Kate Bartlett, Nastia Liukin and more.
