Yahoo Lifestyle Karlie Kloss Made A Rare Comment About Ex-BFF Taylor Swift After Their Rumored Feud
As you’ll surely know, Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift were once best friends.
Their friendship seemingly began around 2012, and the pair were as close as two friends could possibly be for years after that. They hung out all the time, supported each other's careers, and even shared a joint Vogue cover.
However, starting in late 2016, fans began to sense that Taylor and Karlie had drifted apart, and as more time passed, it became increasingly clear that the duo were no longer as close as they once were.
There’s been a lot of speculation about what may have damaged the friendship. Still, the most prominent theory is that they allegedly feuded over Karlie sharing information about Taylor with her former manager, Scooter Braun — something that Taylor has alluded to in her music in the years since.
After she and Taylor stopped being seen together, Karlie also appeared to develop closer friendships with Scooter and the Kardashians, known as Taylor’s enemies, which bolstered theories of a major feud between the two former besties.
Flash forward to August 2023, and Karlie surprised fans by attending the Eras Tour in Los Angeles. Aside from the obvious, her presence was made all the more intriguing by the fact that she was not in the VIP tent, where famous guests are usually situated, but in the stands along with fans.
Although she was seen dancing and enjoying herself at the show, Karlie has never publicly spoken about her attendance.
Now, nearly a year later, Karlie just made a rare comment about her former BFF in an interview with Yahoo Life published on July 22.
In the interview, Karlie was asked to name her favorite song from Taylor’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. And with 31 songs to choose from, Karlie replied: “I’d say the whole album. I mean, her music is classic.”
The interviewer then followed up by asking what her all-time favorite Taylor song is. Karlie — who previously named “Love Story” as her fave — initially kept things vague by saying Taylor’s “got so many hits,” but ultimately settled on “Shake It Off” from 1989.
The interview comes three months after fans speculated that Kim Kardashian — Taylor’s nemesis — took a jab at the singer by reposting an old selfie of her and Karlie on Instagram.
Originally taken in 2022, the picture also featured Khloé Kardashian, W magazine editor-in-chief Sara Moonves, and fashion editor Derek Blasberg. Kim reshared it shortly after Taylor’s album was released in April while celebrating Derek’s birthday.
