Karl Stefanovic breaks silence after Today Show axing
Karl Stefanovic has spoken about his future for the first time since getting axed from the Today Show.
The former co-host is currently on honeymoon with his wife Jasmine Yarbrough in Aspen, and was asked if he had any comments to make about the loss of his role.
“I am looking forward to getting back to the sunshine,” he said in a video obtained by The Daily Telegraph.
Meanwhile the publication reports that Karl could end up working for Channel Nine as a US correspondent.
“The Us correspondent job has been floated with Karl, it would be a good option for both parties,” an insider told the publication.
“Karl has worked in the US on a number of big stories for Nine and Jasmine lived in LA for many years before moving back to Australia for Karl.”
An announcement about the new (potentially all-female line-up) and revised former of the Today show is expected in the coming weeks.
Karl released a statement after news of his axing was released and praised viewers for their support.
“For the last 14 years I’ve co-hosted the best show on television,” Karl said in a statement.

“I can’t thank Nine enough for the opportunity. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be good enough to host this grand show for so long.
“Thanks to our viewers mostly, you are what matters most. It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there. I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great Network soon.”
