The Today Show could be getting an all-female line-up

All eyes are on the Today Show as viewers patiently wait to find out who Channel Nine has chosen to replace long-time host Karl Stefanovic and join Georgie Gardner.

The former co-host was shockingly axed from his role as role yesterday, after 14 years at the helm of the morning TV show.

And now it is being claimed the 44-year-old could be replaced by the likes of Allison Langdon, 39, or Deborah Knight, 46, according to The Australian.

Allison is currently the host of Weekend Today as well as being a reported on 60 Minutes, while Deborah currently present Nine News Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights.

The publication claims the network is looking to “blow the whole thing up” and completely change the show next year.

According to insiders, the network believed Karl’s axing was necessity due to the constant headlines being made in his personal life over the past few years.

The host spoke out about the news in a statement praising the show’s viewers for their support.

“For the last 14 years I’ve co-hosted the best show on television,” Karl said in a statement.

“I can’t thank Nine enough for the opportunity. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be good enough to host this grand show for so long.

“Thanks to our viewers mostly, you are what matters most. It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there. I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great Network soon.”

The 44-year-old, who is currently on his honeymoon in Aspen, after marrying Jasmine Yarbrough last week, will still host This Time Next Year which begins in February.
