Julia Morris spills on new I'm A Celebrity co-host: 'Completely different'

EXCLUSIVE: The comedian shares her hopes for Dr Chris Brown's replacement.

Julia Morris has shared an insight into the selection process for her new I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-host following Dr Chris Brown’s shock departure.

Chris, who has hosted the reality show alongside Julia for the past nine years, announced in February that he had signed a deal with Channel Seven and would be leaving Channel 10 after filming this year’s season.

Julia told Yahoo Lifestyle at the Logie Award nominations event on Monday that while she’s still “very sad” about the fact that Chris won’t be returning to the show, she’s looking forward to working alongside a brand new host.

“I’m excited for the new adventure of what is in store, I don’t know who that’s going to be yet,” she said.

“We start chemistry testing pretty soon with a number of different people - not even a number of different people, I think there’s kind of a party of six. And from there we’ll just work out where that best chemistry is and start a new adventure.”

Julia went on to say that it’s going to be odd filming the show “in a completely different way” after co-hosting with Chris for almost a decade.

“I’m going to have to leave everything of the past behind,” she shared. “Whoever comes in is going to want to build that together. So there’s plenty of space for that person, we’re just looking forward to finding out who that’s going to be.”

'I want it to work'

Julia added that she has a “total dream pick” of who she wants to become her new co-host, although she won't reveal their name in case it doesn’t come to fruition.

“But whoever that person is is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work,” she admitted.

It was announced on Monday that Julia is nominated for the coveted Gold Logie Award for the second year in a row, as well as the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

Meanwhile, I’m A Celebrity has also been nominated for Most Popular Reality Program and Most Outstanding Reality Program, which it won last year.
