Joy Behar lists New York’s Sag Harbor home for $11 million

NEW YORK — Joy Behar has put her sprawling Sag Harbor home on the market for nearly $11 million, roughly eight years after buying the property for less than half that amount.

The 4,500-square-foot home, listed for $10.95 million, sits on 0.63 acres and is surrounded by large trees, giving it privacy from any prying eyes in the Hamptons. The Bay Street property boasts four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, while a guesthouse on the grounds comes with its own full bathroom and fireplace.

“Discover an unparalleled offering in the heart of historic Sag Harbor Village,” the listing reads. “This meticulously restored Victorian delivers the ultimate Hamptons lifestyle: a luxuriously appointed main residence, a lofted studio, and resort-like grounds with a heated gunite pool.”

Behar, 82, purchased the home in 2016 for $4.75 million. It wasn’t even on the market at the time, but she asked the owners, Michael and Claudia Taglich, if they’d be willing to part with it.

“I asked the broker, ‘Can you find out if he wants to sell this house?’” Behar recalled in a 2021 interview with Behind the Hedges. “The owner said, ‘Only at top dollar and as is.’ I took it.”

Behar has not publicly commented on what inspired her decision to put the home up for sale.

She’s previously spoken about her love for the Hamptons, which she said was inspired by a trip with her sorority sisters in the 1960s. Behar maintains a residence in Manhattan for her day job hosting “The View.”
