Yahoo Lifestyle Jonathan Majors Returns in First Trailer for Long-Shelved Sports Drama “Magazine Dreams”
'Magazine Dreams,' Jonathan Majors' first movie to release since his 2023 misdemeanor assault and harassment conviction, is in theaters March 21
Jonathan Majors is making his way back to the big screen after his controversial assault trial.
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Briarcliff Entertainment debuted the trailer for Magazine Dreams, a sports drama Majors, 35, filmed prior to his December 2023 conviction on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges in New York City.
"Killian Maddox is consumed by his dream of becoming a world famous bodybuilder and one day gracing the cover of fitness magazines," reads a synopsis.
"He lives a lonely, regimented life, and his relentless drive for perfection only pushes him deeper towards self-destruction, but beneath his tenacious pursuit of superstardom lies a desperate, aching need for human connection."

"As he battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons, Magazine Dreams explores the lengths one man will go in his haunting quest for recognition in a world that often overlooks him," the synopsis adds.
Magazine Dreams made its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, but its release was put on hold after Majors' trial in New York City began with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors was sentenced to participate in a domestic violence treatment program in April 2024 following his December 2023 conviction. He was also fired from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Kang the Conqueror after the conviction.

Jonathan Majors in Magazine DreamsMagazine Dreams — written and directed by Elijah Bynum (Hot Summer Nights) — also stars Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O'Hearn, Harrison Page and Harriet Sansom Harris. The movie marks Majors' first appearance on screen since 2023's Creed III, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the second season of Disney+'s Loki.
In June, reports emerged that Majors will star in a revenge thriller titled Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve, the brother of Dune director Denis Villeneuve, marking his first role post-conviction.
Magazine Dreams is in theaters March 21.
