Joey King is sharing her mom's unexpected reaction to her new look after the actress debuted bleached eyebrows earlier this month.
The Uglies star, 25, hilariously recalled what her mom said to her in a video posted via TikTok on Thursday, Jan. 17, giving followers a play-by-play of how their conversation went down.
"I dyed my eyebrows like a week ago," King began. "They were, like, white before and now they look like the Lorax mustache, but I kinda love it. But then I saw my mom two days ago and she was like, 'I just can't look at you. You look so weird.'
She continued, "Guys…I know. I know I look weird. That's the point! I was like, 'Mom! That's the point! The point is that I'm trying to be different!'"
Followers were quick to react in the comments section of her post, with one social media user quipping, "I was like, 'Wow this girl really looks like Joey King!'" Another said, "My mom said the same thing to me, they don't get it."
A separate social media user added, "Moms always humble us. My mom saw my bangs and gasped."
King showed off her bleached brows via Instagram on Jan. 5, which garnered hundreds of comments from fans, friends and fellow celebs alike—many of whom applauded the actress' bold look.
"Will NEVER get over this," wrote Dylan Mulvaney, while Noah Cyrus—also known for rocking bleached brows—had a message for King's naysayers.
"THIS IS YOUR LOOK," she wrote, adding in a separate comment, "Everyone please shut the f--k up for once in your lives. She look THE F--K good."
