Joe Locke Teases '2 Years of Keeping This Secret' After Major “Agatha All Along” Reveal Seemingly Connects His Character to “WandaVision”

Warning: This post contains spoilers for episode 5 of Agatha All Along.

Joe Locke's character in Agatha All Along finally has a name — and it offers a big answer to a long-held fan theory.

In this week's episode of the Disney+ series, which premiered Oct. 9, the actor — who had previously been called "Teen" — was seemingly revealed to be none other than Billy.

Billy happens to be the same name as Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff's (Elizabeth Olsen) son, William "Billy" Maximoff. In the comics, Billy, who is also known as Billy Kaplan, goes on to become Wiccan.

"2 years of keeping this secret..." Locke, 21, wrote in a post on his Instagram Stories hours after the episode aired, hinting at the major reveal about who his character really is.

On social media, fans couldn't contain their excitement at the big reveal.

"'You're so much like your mother.' Jaw dropped couldn't breathe. I mean I knew it but I got literal chills. This episode was so good," one fan wrote in the comments section of a Disney+ Instagram post about the episode.

"The way I screamed at my television in the last 30 seconds omggggggggg!!!" another fan wrote.

At the end of the episode, Locke's character's identity was revealed after he showed off the impressive powers he has been hiding. After Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) told him, "You're so much like your mother," Billy used his mind control powers to have Lilia (Patti LuPone) and Jen (Sasheer Zamata) drown Agatha in the mud, before he blasted them back into the mud pit, too.

The episode ended with a close-up shot of Billy with a crown that appeared on his head — one that bore a striking resemblance to a crown his mother, Wanda, often wore. During this moment, the Billie Eilish hit "You Should See Me in a Crown," providing another Easter Egg of sorts as the artist shares the character's name.

The jury is still out on which version of Billy that Lock is portraying, with the hope that future episodes will explore his backstory and provide clarification

Several fans shared side-by-side images of Wanda and Billy to point out how similar he looked to his mother as the episode ended. One fan wrote, "Like mother, like son," as they pointed out the similarities in the crowns and the nature of both Wanda and Billy's powers in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

"Me after that #AgathaAllAlong reveal that I totally saw coming and genuinely wanted to happen but I can't quite believe is real," another fan wrote on X alongside a video of Wanda looking confused.

Locke was cast in the series, which is a spinoff from WandaVision, in mid-2022. So as he said on his Instagram Stories, he's been keeping his character's identity a secret for two years — and even dodging questions about the teen's real name and who he might actually be within the MCU.

"When I found out I got an email which said 'welcome to the marvel universe'," he wrote on Instagram in November 2022 when the casting was announced. "And I screamed. 💜💜💜."
