Jessica Alba Shares Message About 'Healing' and Building a 'Good Life' After Confirming Split from Husband Cash Warren
Alba confirmed on Jan. 16 that she and Warren are breaking up more than 16 years of marriage
Jessica Alba is sharing optimistic messages on social media, days after she confirmed that she and husband Cash Warren have separated.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, Alba, 43, re-shared an Instagram post by the author and poet Diego Perez, who goes by the pen name Yung Pueblo, to her Instagram Stories. "How do you build a good life? Relentlessly follow your intuition. Build with people who also love to grow," Perez's post read. "Take responsibility for your healing. Love yourself so deeply that you feel at home in your own body and mind. Teach yourself to forgive. Never stop being a kind person."
Alba shared the message to her Stories and added a simple comment in addition to the blurb, writing, "This," in her own post.
Alba and Warren, 46, first met on the set of her 2005 superhero movie Fantastic Four; Warren worked on the film's crew. The pair married in May 2008 and share three children: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7. Reports first circulated that the pair were nearing a divorce on Jan. 8. Alba confirmed the news herself in an Instagram post she shared on Jan. 16 after a source told PEOPLE on Jan. 15 that Alba retained a divorce lawyer.
"I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash," she wrote in that Jan. 16 post. "I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."
"We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time," Alba added at that time.

A source told PEOPLE on Jan. 8 that Alba and Warren remain "friends and all about the kids" as they navigate ending their marriage. "No matter what's going on right now, it seems they will remain close," the source said. "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together."
"Jess has mentioned over the years though that it's hard to keep the spark," the source added at that time.
Alba and Warren were seen spending time together as recently as Jan. 3, when she shared photos of their entire family together at Universal Studios in Hollywood, Calif., to celebrate their youngest son Hayes' birthday
