Jessica Alba Had a Mother-Daughter Date With Honor Amid Cash Warren Breakup
They took a "girls trip" to N.Y.C.
Despite news of her separation from longtime husband Cash Warren, Jessica Alba is still finding things to smile about—especially when it comes to her three kids, Honor, Haven, and Hayes. Last weekend, Alba even made a point to take her eldest, 16-year-old daughter Honor, to New York City for a "girls trip."
"Love 1 on 1 with my angel, Honor," Alba wrote on Instagram. "We had all the yummy eats, watched the incredible @ohmaryplay written and performed by @coleescola—I was blown away, beginning to end belly laughs—it was such a good time! And had the best girls trip companions—@giadadelaurentiis and Honor’s bestie, Jade. Heart and belly full."
The trip was a well-timed respite for Alba, who recently broke her silence over her and Warren's split.
"I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash," she wrote in a statement shared to Instagram. "I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."
Alba and Warren were together for nearly 17 years before announcing their separation this January. Both parties have previously spoken up about the difficulties they faced over the course of their marriage. Last April, Alba opened up to Katherine Schwarzenegger on the BDA Baby podcast about the realities of long-term partnership.
“I would say it’s all rosy for two-and-a-half years. But then after that you become roommates," Alba said. "You're just going through the motions, the responsibilities. It's a lot of like checking the boxes.”
Warren, meanwhile, described their marriage as "hard work" in a July interview with US Weekly, adding, "but we roll up our sleeves and we do it."
The pair have yet to officially file their divorce paperwork, a delay that can be blamed, at least in part, on the L.A. wildfires.
"Since the fires, they have been spending more time under one roof as a family," a source told US Weekly. "They are being there for each other right now as it is a very stressful time."
