Jessica Alba is breaking her silence following the news of her split from husband Cash Warren. Earlier this month, it was reported that the two were separating after 16 years of marriage. On Thursday, the actress and businesswoman shared a statement about their decision to go separate ways.

"I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash," she wrote in a statement shared to Instagram. "I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."

People initially reported that the breakup was amicable, with a source noting that the two were still "friends and all about the kids."

"No matter what's going on right now, it seems they will remain close," the insider added. "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years though that it's hard to keep the spark."

According to Us Weekly, they do plan to file for divorce "soon" but are holding off amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. "Since the fires, they have been spending more time under one roof as a family," an insider said. "They are being there for each other right now as it is a very stressful time."

The source added, however, that "Cash has been slowly moving things out of their house" and Alba will reportedly keep their Beverly Hills home, with the pair “working it all out behind the scenes."
