Jennifer Lopez Recreates ‘Waiting for Tonight’ Music Video While Dancing in Green Dress on New Year's Eve
The star shared a slow-motion clip to Instagram paying homage to her 1998 music video in a plunging lime green ensemble
Jennifer Lopez is entering the new year with a blast from the past.
The musician and actress, 55, gave fans a glimpse of her 2024 New Year's Eve look on Tuesday, Dec. 31 while paying homage to the 1998 music video for her hit song "Waiting for Tonight."
In a slow-motion clip shared to Instagram, the Unstoppable star wore a figure-hugging lime green dress with a plunging neckline. She danced with large leaves waving around her as wind blew through her hair.
"Waiting For Tonight, 2025," Lopez captioned the post.
Fans are loving the nod to the star's iconic song. "This eternal serve 👏🏼 💚," one wrote in the comment section.
"Iconic recreation💚," said another.
The daring holiday attire is Lopez's latest festive fit this December, during which she spent time with family in Aspen, Colo. Throughout the trip, she shared snaps with her child Emme, 16, sister Lynda Lopez, 53, and niece Lucie, 16, while having fun in the snow.
On Christmas Day, Lopez shared a series of snaps to Instagram in a post that marked her first Christmas since filing for divorce from Ben Affleck. In the images, she and the teens sat bundled up while holding hot beverages. She also posed with Lynda while donning furry coats and large sunglasses.
Lopez captioned the post with a simple snowman and snowflake emoji.
A day earlier, she posted photos on Instagram Stories of herself with Emme and twin brother Max as they prepped for the holiday. Lopez shares her two children with ex-husband Marc Anthony. “Merry Christmas Eve to you and yours 🤍🎄,” her caption read.
In November, the JLO Beauty founder told PEOPLE why she finds the holiday season extra-special.
“We don't get to see each other all year," she shared of spending time with her sisters, adding, "So we kind of catch up on what everybody's doing and how life is. It's just a beautiful time. I really enjoy it.”
Last year, Lopez rung in the new year alongside Affleck, 52, as the duo had a romantic evening watching fireworks and holding each other close. She wore a sequin dress for the occasion, and soundtracked the scene with Marc Cohn's "True Companion" on social media.
The year before, Lopez had a private New Year's Eve celebration with drinks and festive attire, as she rocked a gown with a red plunging neckline and black skirt — complete with a green ribbon broach at her waist. "HAPPY NEW YEAR! // ¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!," she captioned a video at the time.

Lopez had a lot to celebrate this month beyond the holidays, as on Dec. 12, she shared a birthday tribute to her mother Guadalupe Rodríguez on Instagram.
"Happy birthday mommy!! I love you so very much!! Thank you for being there for me always…🤍🤍 #TheLupinator," Lopez wrote in a caption for Rodríguez, 79.
As for Affleck, a source exclusively told PEOPLE before Christmas that the actor-filmmaker is “healthy, single and enjoying life,” as he spends "the holiday with his children" He shares Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
