Jacob Elordi fans lose it over Brisbane-born star's Aussie accent: 'WTF'

Jacob Elordi fans have been left shocked after the Brisbane-born star appeared on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week and used his Australian accent, with many thinking he was American or British.

The 26-year-old rose to fame in 2018 in The Kissing Booth and found success the following year in Euphoria, with the star using an American accent in both projects. In 2023, the star appeared in Saltburn and Priscilla, where he used a British and southern/midwestern American accent, respectively.

As clips of Jacob's SNL appearance have made their way to social media, many fans have shared their confusion over his accent.

"Wait, WTF, I didn’t know Jacob Elordi had an accent," one fan wrote on X.

"Jacob Elordi sounds like he’s faking his accent, sorry don’t believe it be normal," another added.

"I was today years old when I learned that Jacob Elordi has an Australian accent," a third wrote.

"[I know] this will make me sound dumb, but I just discovered Jacob Elordi has an accent, and now he’s hotter," someone else joked.

"Did we all just collectively forget Jacob Elordi has an Australian accent," another quipped.

"Hold on… Jacob Elordi is Australian… HE HAS AN ACCENT," one shocked fan said.

Some poked fun at Americans for not realising Jacob could have come from anywhere else and also praised the actor for his accent abilities.

"Americans surprised by Jacob Elordi’s non-American accent," one user wrote. "Like, there was never a possibility that he could have come from another country."

"Say what [you] will [about] Jacob Elordi but that Aussie can pull off an American and an English accent like it’s nothing," another said.

Some were also left annoyed that the star didn't get to use his real accent for any of the skits on SNL, with one fan writing, "@NBCSNL let Jacob Elordi talk in his accent!!! We are BEGGING."

How tall is Jacob Elordi?

While many people have been wondering about the star's accent, they've also been left wondering just how tall the Saltburn star is, especially in comparison to his SNL co-host Renee Rapp, with one user writing, "How tall is Jacob Elordi bc Renee is tall as hell wtf."

"Jacob Elordi is so tall, my short a** would have to crane my neck to make eye contact with him," another joked.

"I think it’s funny that like half of Jacob Elordi’s sketches were just about him being hot and tall," a third quipped.

Jacob is certainly very tall, the star is 196cm tall or 6'5". Other incredibly tall stars include Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who is 196cm, Calvin Harris, who is 197cm, and Brad Garrett, who is 204cm. Jacob's Saltburn co-star Barry Keoghan is 173cm tall, while Renee Rapp is a similar height at around 170cm tall.
