Davina Rankin blasts MAFS after I'm A Celebrity eviction: 'So bad'

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! farewelled its first star on Sunday night with former Married at First Sight bride Davina Rankin literally being 'ejected' from the Aussie bush.

The reality TV star failed to correctly guess the amount of rats in a box and become the first person to be sent home from the so-called jungle.

In an interview on HIT Queensland’s Breakfast with Cliffo and Gabi, the Brisbane mum hit out at her former reality gig on Channel Nine's MAFS, as she opened up about the difference between the two experiences.

"It’s not about fighting or drama, it’s about teamwork and you’re all there for your charity. There’s no manipulation, there’s none of that kind of stuff, it’s a really beautiful family and loving show…. I really loved it," she said.

During her time in camp however, Davina broke down in tears, as she revealed she "didn’t leave the house for three months" while her season of the controversial dating show aired back in 2018.

"It was just rough," she'd told her campmates.

When asked by Cliffo and Gabi if her mental health was taken care of by MAFS producers after the show, she said, "no not at all …. The duty of care was just so bad, I hope they have gotten better over the years."

"Even when I knew the MAFS chat on Celebrity was coming up, I was anxious all day, but I had so much support, everyone from the show was calling me to make sure I was OK…. They talked me through the whole thing, they were so careful about me, my mental health, it was so beautiful."

Davina was paired with Ryan Gallagher on the fifth season of the Channel 9 show before becoming the 'villain' famous for her TV affair with a different MAFS groom, Dean Wells.

Since her time on the show, the 29-year-old has welcomed a daughter, Mila-Mae, two, and gotten engaged to fiancé Jaxon Manuel.

As tradition dictates, the eliminated celebrity got to dob in their fellow campmates for the next trial.

Davina chose Beau and Brooke from the blue team and Tottie and Nathan from the red team to battle it out.
