‘Idle Hands’ Star Devon Sawa Humbled by 10-Year-Old Son Following Remake News

Devon Sawa might be famous for his role in the 90's cult classic horror film Idle Hands, but there's one person who's apparently not very impressed—his 10-year-old son, Hudson.

In a Nov. 12 post on X, Sawa, 46, shared the hilarious story of what happened when Hudson found out that a remake of Idle Hands is in the works.

"My 10 year old 'Awesome!! Finn Wolfhard from the coolest show Staranger [sic] Things is making a new movie called idle hands!!' Me 'I was in Idle Hands!! I’m the original Anton!!' 'Sure dad. Whatever you say. — can I have a snack?'" Sawa wrote.

Sawa's son might have been unaware of his dad's role in the original movie, but the actor's followers apparently never stopped loving his performance.

"There is NOO [sic] reason that movie needs a remake! The OG will always be the OG!" wrote one fan.

"I always reference this classic when trying to explain how this was a peak time for horror cinema," agreed a second person.

"Ok but… like are you getting a cameo ? Can we get the Offspring to come back? I grew up along side Devon Sawa movies. I need them for the next gen!" declared another X user.

"Finn will be their Anton. You will always be ours!"someone else vowed.

According to Variety, Wolfhard and Billy Bryk—who co-wrote and co-directed the festival hit Hell of a Summer—have signed on to write the updated version of Idle Hands for Sony Pictures, with Jason Reitman producing.

“Finn and Billy crushed their directorial debut and have a completely original take on Idle Hands that captures a disaffected generation,” Reitman said. “We are excited to support them as they bring their unique take to the screen and summon the demons.”
