Hugh Jackman 'back in the dating game' after shock split

It won't be long until the Aussie star moves on, sources say.

A Hollywood insider has revealed that Aussie actor Hugh Jackman is prioritising his love life after he and his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, called it quits on their marriage.

Fans were stunned when the couple announced they were ending their marriage last month but a source close to Hugh, 54, told New Idea that they expected him to find someone soon.

"Finding love again is one of his biggest priorities," the friend revealed to the magazine. "Everyone expects Hugh will remarry fairly quickly. He's such a soft-hearted person and is likely to fall for the first girl who catches his eye."

And there won't be a shortage of women trying to do just that. "There's a freeway of ladies lined up around the block to date him," an industry insider revealed. "Hugh likes being married and having a special partner. He wouldn't have stayed so long with Deb if he didn't have that with her," the source added.

Hugh and Deb, 67, announced their split via social media and added in a statement to People magazine: "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition."

Although there are plenty of recently single Hollywood beauties that Hugh could ask to date, including Sofía Vergara, Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock, the Aussie actor has a hectic work schedule, so may struggle to find the time. With Deadpool 3 in production and three films – Faraway Downs, Apostle Paul and The Good Spy – all in pre-production, Hugh is making sure he doesn't have time to dwell on the past.

According to his Instagram account, he's also been busy working out and hanging out with friends including Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, Ryan's wife Blake Lively and pop superstar Taylor Swift. It looks like for now, he's taking a leaf out of Taylor's book and shaking it off.
