Home and Away fans are worried that Matt Evans could be leaving Summer Bay. The young musician, who has played Leah Patterson’s nephew Theo Poulos since 2021, recently left Australia to pursue his music career.

Music is his first love, with the star shooting to fame on The Voice back in 2020. Since then, he has been busy releasing music and playing shows. He recently released a new song called “As Good As It Gets” and headed on a European tour to promote his music.

He visited Dublin, London, Leeds, Manchester and Belgium, with some fans wondering why he had stopped filming.

“Matt Evans has got a new song and [has been] travelling in Europe. Is he leaving the show?” one person asked in an online fan group.

“Maybe [he] dies,” one person suggested.

“He is heading off to Hollywood with Jacqui Purvis – I predicted each one of them over the years including Chris Hemsworth,” another guessed.

“Unfortunately can see him eventually leaving for his talent,” a third wrote sadly.

“He’ll go a long way,” another added.

However, it appears he hasn’t left the show just yet. Many fans pointed out that the cast and crew were all seen on holiday for two weeks recently, making it likely Home and Away was on a hiatus or winter break.

“They film all year through and only break for three weeks over Christmas and again for two weeks in the middle of the year, and they film the end-of-year finale towards the end of July,” a superfan revealed.

“Matt will be back next week for the Logies and he hasn’t left [the] show as of yet,” another said.

“Most of them [were] on holiday if you follow their Instagrams a lot [of them were] in the UK,” a third wrote.

There were many Home and Away fans who were absolutely captivated by Matt’s performances in the UK. He shared a video on Instagram to thank fans for coming along to his tour and it wasn’t long before his comment section was flooded with praise.

“Oh, it was an amazing weekend!! We had so much fun and enjoyed it so much. You are amazing Matt,” one person wrote.

“So lovely to see you on your whirlwind tour of Europe. The shows were awesome, and great to meet you too mate,” another added.

“It was an absolute pleasure and honour to witness your beautiful talent. Your voice is as smooth as silk, you play your guitar beautifully,” a third gushed. “I absolutely love you as a musician and you’re killing it on Home and Away but above all this, you are a kind, caring, genuine human being with a heart of pure and solid gold.”

“You were absolutely fantastic, what a voice, what a talent. So pleased for the journey you’re on! What a brilliant evening with Bella and Jude, loved it… come back soon to see us in the UK,” another commented.

Now there’s only one question left from Aussie fans: when will Matt head on tour around Australia? Guess it depends on whether he leaves Home and Away or not!
