Home and Away's Sophie Dillman breaks silence on wedding plans

Sleuthing Home and Away fans went wild after they spotted an interesting detail in Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor’s holiday snaps in July.

Fans quickly realised that the couple, who play onscreen pair Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson, looked particularly loved up — and Sophie was often hiding her left ring finger in the photos.

It wasn’t long before fans assumed Patrick had planned the perfect proposal while travelling together through Greece.

Talking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Sophie addresses the engagement rumours and laughs while she explains.

“This was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. It was a real extravaganza,” she begins.

“Apparently I hide my left hand in every photo, and that was not intentional at all. It’s just a better angle this way apparently?”

Although Home and Away’s golden couple are in a serious relationship, there aren’t any 'wedding bells' ringing just yet.

“Clean skin. Still on the market boys, I’m still free,” she jokes, showing off her bare wedding finger.

The star also spilled on her romantic trip with Patrick, and gushed about how much she loved Greece.

“Greece is pretty amazing. I’m a water baby at heart, and the water is so clear. The water was so clear the fish had shadows!” she exclaims.

Saying that the country was ‘magic’ and ‘breathtaking’, it sounds like their European adventure was everything she had hoped for.

“The sun doesn’t burn you like it burns in Australia. You don’t get burnt! You just get brown and delicious, and there’s Aperol everywhere,” she says.

‘Really great’

This comes after Sophie opened up to Yahoo Lifestyle about working with her other half.

The Queenslanders knew each other at university before ending up on Home and Away, and their characters entered into a relationship before their real-life romance blossomed.

“It’s actually really great working with Paddy, we worked together before we got together. So we had a great professional relationship first,” she tells us.

“I really admire his work ethic and some of his action choices, and how he looks at his character and storylines. I’ve learnt a lot from him,” she raves.

However, kissing scenes never become normal, no matter how close you are to your co-star.

“Definitely [strange]. You have a camera guy right here, going ‘closer, to the left, to the right’. [It’s] weird,” she laughs.
