‘High Potential’ Drives Impressive 7-Day Audience Growth To Become ABC’s Most-Watched New Series In 6 Years

EXCLUSIVE: High Potential is off to quite a promising start on ABC.

Through its first five weeks on air, the Kaitlin Olson-led series is averaging 10.42M viewers to be ABC’s most-watched new series in six years, since the 2018-2019 season when The Conners debuted.

The October 22 episode has now amassed 6.83M viewers in seven days of linear viewing, according to Nielsen data, helping the network win the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour for the first time in four years.

When factoring in streaming across Hulu and Disney+, that episode has tallied 10.49M viewers in a week, which is a 191% increase over its live + same-day audience of 3.6M. That’s also a slight 2% increase over the previous episode’s 10.31M viewers.

High Potential, from 20th Television, is created by Drew Goddard. It follows Morgan (Olson), a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind, who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department. When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential, she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.

The series also stars Taran Killam, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J and Judy Reyes.

Goddard and Sarah Esberg executive produce for Goddard Textiles, along with Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret and Jean Nainchrik. Olson serves as producer. Todd Harthan is showrunner and executive producer. 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, is the studio.
