"In the photograph Her Majesty and His Royal Highness are seen looking at an anniversary card made by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, alongside other cards and letters sent by well-wishers."
The young children of Prince William and Kate Middleton haven't been able to see their great-grandparents for a few weeks, so no doubt the card brought the Queen and Prince Philip much joy.
Chris Jackson, a royal photographer, who took the photo shared an interesting piece of information, revealing the Queen was wearing the same brooch she wore for her honeymoon!
"It was very special this week to be invited to capture HM The Queen (wearing the Chrysanthemum brooch she wore on her honeymoon) and The Duke of Edinburgh in a photograph to celebrate their 73rd Wedding Anniversary in the Oak Room of Windsor Castle," he wrote.
"73 years is an astounding achievement by anyone’s measure and it was touching for me to capture this moment as they took their first look at a homemade anniversary card sent by their Great Grandchildren Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte. Congratulations!"
Fans loved the special touch of the brooch, with one user writing: "I really love this photo and that she wore her brooch."
"What a rare privilege you have and a gift to capture tender moments for history," another wrote.
"I love how HM wears the same sapphire brooch for all their anniversary pictures - the same she wore on their engagement pictures," one fan added.
Many others congratulated them on such a special occasion.
The Queen and the Duke married on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey when she was just 21 and he was 26. The couple's marriage marks the longest of any British sovereign.
