Prince Philip 'disappointed' by Meghan and Harry's royal move

Prince Philip is reportedly struggling to comprehend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step away from the royal family and settle down in LA.

According to royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, the 99-year-old, who renounced his naval career in 1952 when the Queen ascended the throne, can’t understand why Meghan couldn’t give up her dreams to support Harry and the monarchy.

Speaking on Sky News, Ingrid said: “I think he's very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the Queen and help the monarchy,” she said.

“And why can't Meghan just give up her acting career, support her husband and support the monarchy?

Back in January, the royal world was thrown into disarray when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping away from their roles as senior royals.

The following days were a flurry of emergency Buckingham Palace meetings, which Ingrid claims Prince Philip wanted nothing to do with.

"Of course, it irritates him hugely. And when they had the Sandringham Summit, Prince Philip was seen leaving the house very swiftly before they all arrived,” she said.

"He simply doesn't want to get involved anymore."

Last year, it was claimed that Prince Philip tried to warn Prince Harry off marrying Meghan Markle.

He’s said to have told Harry: “One steps out with actresses, one doesn’t marry them”, according to a Sunday Times Magazine article by Sophie Money-Coutts.

His words of warning obviously didn’t do anything to deter his 34-year-old grandson from pursuing 37-year-old former Suits actress Meghan, as the pair wed in a lavish Windsor Castle wedding on May 19th 2018.

It seems Meghan isn’t the only one in Prince Philip’s bad books. According to reports, Prince Philip, has always refused to be under the same roof as Sarah Ferguson since her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996.

It has been said that he blames her for publicly humiliating the Queen and the royal family over the years.
