Gwyneth Paltrow Shares What She 'Let Go of' in 2024 Including the 'Phase of Life When Everyone Is Under One Roof'
Some other things the Goop founder let go of this year include "Los Angeles" and “people who were not right for me"
Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to start the new year with a clean slate.
The actress and Goop founder, 52, shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 29 featuring a list of everything she’s “let go of" over the course of the year.
In the post, which she explained was lifted from a Dec. 29 Goop newsletter, she wrote, “My friend got me a numerology reading, and I learned I’m in a nine year, which is year of completions and endings. I had a few very strong lessons around completing certain things. I had a bunch of goodbyes this year. I had some revelations that led to the ends of things.”
She continued: “The numerologist contextualized all of this for me, but this year was about learning to understand that it was a year of endings. And that sometimes those endings have been really painful and have come with big change and recalibrations. I’ve learned to loosen my grip on things and deeply learn to let go. And also to understand that everything is always happening for your highest good, even if it’s super uncomfortable.”
Paltrow's post contains a carousel of images, as well as an introductory video of the Sliding Doors star casually walking while wearing a blue and white dress and sunglasses. The clip is labeled, “This year I let go of…” and is followed by eight things she's left behind in 2024.
The first thing is “the phase of life where everyone is always under one roof," and features a photo Paltrow and her kids, Apple Martin, 20, and Moses Martin, 18, dining together at a restaurant.
Other things include “our home,” “some very cherished colleagues,” “Los Angeles” and “a dog💔,” the latter of which Paltrow illustrated with a photo of herself lying next to her canine named Nero.
Paltrow revealed that she also let go of “some people who were not right for me,” “the idea that I can correct misperceptions and “believing self-limiting beliefs,” something she noted she was "still working on.”
The reflective Instagram post then segued into an image that read, “In 2025 I would like to…” as Paltrow listed out her goals for 2025.
That list ranges from “feel better” and “crush it at work."
Her other goals for the upcoming year include “continue to be able to have tough conversations,” “continuously reassess everything,” “look at things in a new way" and “surprise myself.”

Paltrow’s latest Instagram post comes just days after she shared a glimpse of her Christmas spent with Apple. On Wednesday, Dec. 25, the Goop founder posted a sweet photo of the mother-daughter duo — along with other family members — getting into the holiday spirit as they bundled up outdoors while holding festive candles.
"A very merry Christmas to all ❤️💚❤️," Paltrow captioned her post.
Back in October, the mother of two took part in a Q&A session with her followers on her Instagram Stories and opened up about being an empty nester after one fan asked, "How's life as a free bird?"
"Thank you for asking," the actress replied in a video. "It's very different. I have waves of grief and sadness."
"I am kind of getting back in touch with this part of myself that I haven't felt like since I was in my 20s before I had kids," she added. "Like, a little more space and imagination, maybe. A little more inner space for what I might want to do that day, stuff like that."
